How Does This Work?

  1. ​Reach out by email, phone, or text and I'll get back to you and chat for a few minutes.

  2. We will schedule an intake assessment either in person or online via secure telehealth.

  3. I will send you a link to a secure client portal where you will be able to review my policies, provide information, and complete a few short questionnaires. Please complete all of these forms prior to your appointment.

  4. If you are using your insurance, please call them to verify your benefits. Please ask them:

    1. If mental health outpatient counseling is subject to the deductible, and

    2. The copay or coinsurance amount

  5. If we are meeting in person, help yourself to tea or water and turn on the switch by the hallway door to let me know you’re there. I am typically quite punctual. If we are meeting online, you will receive an email link to a secure telehealth session. Use your computer's browser or download the Simple Practice telehealth app for your phone.

  6. During your intake appointment, I will ask you questions including what you would like to get as a result of your investment of time and money in counseling. I am hired to help you feel better. You can tell me what you need (if you know!) and together we will make a treatment plan.

  7. Your therapy will be based on the treatment plan and typically in alignment with what is medically necessary. Some people come at the same time every week or two weeks, some people schedule session by session according to their busy schedules.
